With its 25% larger diameter the 32 spline Extreme Duty
Shaft is 50% Stronger than
the original 10 spline shaft. It's not hard to see why
this is a must have for Early Bronco owners!
Extreme Duty Dana 20 Output System Features:
Assembled Kit
| Tech Notes
1. Overall assembly will be 3/4" longer than stock. It is possible but not likely that the rear driveshaft will need to be shortened 2. The system includes a 1310 series CV style yoke. This means it will bolt up to your stock spicer style driveshaft (If you are running the old Borg Warner style driveshaft it will need to be changed to a Spicer style). See below for driveshaft identification. 3. The Extreme Duty Dana 20 Output System bolts into the stock Bronco Dana 20 output housing. No modifications to the housing are necessary. |
Driveshaft Identification
From 1966-70, the Bronco came with a Borg Warner driveshaft and, from 71-77,
they used a Spicer.
Both of these styles used constant velocity joints. If you're not sure,
don't go by the year because many
of the old ones have been updated already. An easy way to tell which you
have is to see if your
driveshaft uses external snap rings (Spicer). If you can see the snap rings
on the outside of the bearing
cap, it's a Spicer. Another way to tell the difference is to measure the
bolt pattern on the transfer case
yoke. All of our driveshafts are Spicer style and you will need a transfer
case yoke if you are converting
from the old Borg Warner style.
There is a 100.00 Core charge for your old assembly. Broken shafts accepted.
